We're always in need of Volunteer Coaches to help teach sportsmanship, teamwork & specific skills to the kids! No experience necessary, we will provide you with practice plans. Volunteers must be 14 or older. We recommend that teenagers pair up with a friend to co-coach a team. About this program

Make a meaningful impact in your community by volunteering with our English classes for adult learners! Volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can build their confidence and communication skills.

How You Can Help:

Assist with classroom activities and group exercises.

Provide one-on-one conversation practice to help learners build fluency during class.

Support the Child Watch area during class time along with other YMCA staff, ensuring children are cared for while parents focus on learning.

All volunteers are support to our YMCA staff and not required to lead or create any curriculum or activity.

Volunteer Options:

One-Time Opportunity: Perfect if you’d like to try volunteering or have limited availability.

Regular Volunteering: Consistent support is especially helpful for building relationships with learners and creating a seamless learning experience.

Please contact Daniel Alvarado at alvaradod@ymcarichmond.org after you have registered to set up your hours.
